I love this story!! And I think all of you romantics out there, will, too…

Rodney King, who was the victim in a notorious case of police brutality in Los Angeles in the 90’s, is getting married to one of the jurors (Cynthia Kelley) who helped award him $3.8 million.

Right after the trial, he ran into her, and though they were both married at the time, there was a real spark. It seems that the romance began, but was complicated by their marriages and by Rodney’s drug problem; and they broke it off.

Years later, after rehab, Rodney spontaneously called her. The relationship flourished and they are now getting married.

The whole notion of meeting your soul mate – that one special person, out of all of the people in the world – is fascinating to me.

The word “beshert” in Hebrew means : meant to be. Aside from luck and timing, the connection between two people is beshert.

Had Rodney King not been savagely beaten by the L.A.P.D. – had Cynthia not been chosen out of hundreds of people to be on the jury –
had they not run into each other right after the trial… this relationship would never have come to be.

I hear stories like this one and it really confirms my belief in a higher power: there is someone or something out there with a far greater plan than any we have – working magic and making matches.
